A Thousand Miles Apart

Shannon and I have been in a long-term relationship for almost two years now - I live in Kansas, she lives in Utah. We meet every few months, but the distance is still hard to deal with. Video games have had a huge part in our relationship, allowing us to play together even when we can't be together. This is what I did for Valentine's Day this year.

Happy Birthday Shan!

Today marks a very special occasion, the birthday of a very special person, who is celebrating a very special milestone in her very special life. So I made her this very special hand-drawn card that looks like a very special expressionist sketch.

And that's pretty neat.

Shan in Photo Filter

I feel like it's kinda cheating to use photo filters on an illustration, but I also feel like the finished product is very worth it.

Shan in Noir

There are a couple loose hairs. I shouldn't have said that, because you probably wouldn't have noticed it unless I brought it up. To give you a positive obscure feature to focus on instead, look at that lovely shading. So rich.

The text reads "Black Cake" in French and is a combination reference to the medium of this portrait and Shannon's nickname, Snackcake.

Shan in Art Nouveau

 I'd like to indroduce y'all to Shannon! This drawing is based on a picture of her in a thrift store denim dress that she was really hesitant to try on. Her adorable shame seemed really fit for an art nouveau portrait. This was my first attempt at the style, but I really like how it turned out.
