Tendrils and Doodles

I doodled some non-euclidean monstrosities! Then I quickly live-traced them into vectors! Yay vectors!

Wriggling and writhing erratically about the page.

There's another squid in the above image I didn't use! Guess why!It just looks so soft and cuddly!

Threadless to a Good Home

Does that title make any sort of sense?
Remember these loveable designs?

"Moo!" says the fungus cow. "Squid noises!" says the giant squid.

A while back I submitted these two and a sleepy ocelot to the Jinx Minecraft t-shirt contest. While the ocelot has been adopted by the good folks at Jinx, these two are still looking for a good home.

That's where the Threadless Second Minecraft Challenge comes in! For a single, one-time free payment of  a 5 vote, these poor creatures can be given a second chance at a proper, professional production cycle.

Click the images above to learn more about these designs. Their future is in your cursor. Vote now. Change a life. In the arms of an angel.

Significant Form

My most recent project in photography, setting up staged shots of objects and using light to bring out interesting aspects of their shape.
The meaningful qualities of their appearance.
The notable parts of their figure.
Their substantial construction.
Their compelling framework.
Their suggestive model.
Et cetera.

It looks like long hair, if long hair was made out of and looked like a lot of rope.

Crazy close-up and extremely contrasty hammock. The construction reminds me of a fishing net, and the fact that all the crazy vibrant colors didn't carry over adds to that association. There's so much motion in this one with that one simple twist.

GOLD PEAK ICED TEA: RUINING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS AND YOUR TASTE BUDS SINCE 2006

I tied some rope around a bottle and put a flashlight at one end of that bottle. This whole set would have a very nautical feel if it weren't for all that branding on the cap.

Singing the Songs of the Unsung

...this is a cow......and this is a squid who has tried her entire adolescent life to gain the approval and affection of a father figure who has never really made himself available to her emotionally. Subconsciously she gave up on trying to please her father years ago, and now in her increasingly self-destructive search for attention she has turned to amateur pole dancing on odd-shaped poles. This is a cat...

They're all up for voting! Not totally sure how that happened, but I'm not complaining. Click each of the icons above to be taken to the voting page for that design. Vote well, vote often!

Creature of the Deep

The cold steely eyes of a killer.

Avast! Another entry to the Jinx Unsung Heroes of Minecraft contest! This one's a squid, and I love it for so many reasons. It has a pixel aesthetic that compliments the game, it turns the unobtrusive li'l squid into a ferocious beast, and the ship itself is just all sorts of cool.

Working on the ocelot now, and I might have a design before the end of today. I don't think I'll have time or creativity enough to do all ten of the featured mobs, but I don't see any reason not to try.
