Level Caps is Go!

Level Caps, a collaboration between myself an Shannon of "Shan in" fame, is now operational! It's been a long time in the making, from logo work to hat designs to yarn palette selections, but we've done it!

You can peruse our entire selection here, but just as a sample, here are a few of the hats we've already sold!

Tendrils and Doodles

I doodled some non-euclidean monstrosities! Then I quickly live-traced them into vectors! Yay vectors!

Wriggling and writhing erratically about the page.

There's another squid in the above image I didn't use! Guess why!It just looks so soft and cuddly!

Every Expression of Endless Envy

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I made a poster in typography! We were given one hour to pick a typeface, come up with a concept, and use freehand marker skills to turn in into a finished poster that displayed five qualities of type anatomy. Naturally my first instinct was to make Pac-man screaming/eating Helvetica Es in a spiral formation.

Naturally.

Threadless to a Good Home

Does that title make any sort of sense?
Remember these loveable designs?

"Moo!" says the fungus cow. "Squid noises!" says the giant squid.

A while back I submitted these two and a sleepy ocelot to the Jinx Minecraft t-shirt contest. While the ocelot has been adopted by the good folks at Jinx, these two are still looking for a good home.

That's where the Threadless Second Minecraft Challenge comes in! For a single, one-time free payment of  a 5 vote, these poor creatures can be given a second chance at a proper, professional production cycle.

Click the images above to learn more about these designs. Their future is in your cursor. Vote now. Change a life. In the arms of an angel.

Posts or Lack Thereof

Back in the early days of design, pioneers had to construct their own unresponsive program indicators.

So this is what I've been doing in school lately.

Arranging color wheels.

I haven't been posting much because there's not much to see here.

It's a color wheel.

I arranged it.

Go me.

Level Caps

Anyone else find this animation weirdly soothing?

All 40 color variations on a logo I've been making lately. Hand-lettered, designed from scratch. Learned about dithering as a shading method and ever since I've been much happier.

Also, here's a sprite sheet of my design process.

Pixel hats yaaaay.
